Job Description

Waldorf-Inspired English Immersion Teacher — Bundang, Seongnam

Magnolia Green Scholars of Nature and Art · Start ASAP · E-2 and F visas welcome

About Us

Magnolia Green is an English immersion program built on Waldorf pedagogy, located in Bundang, Seongnam.

Our classes center on storytelling, puppetry, art, and song. A typical day is built around a central story — told orally to the children, never read from a screen — followed by projects that deepen and extend it: painting, handwork, movement, baking, play.

There is no bookwork and no formal homework in early childhood. Our elementary program focuses primarily on novel studies.

If you have ever finished a day of flashcards and worksheets and thought there has to be a better way to do this — this is that job.

The Position

  • Students: ages 3–7 (Korean age), plus an elementary novel-study program
  • Class size: capped at 10 students
  • Team teaching: every class has an American lead teacher and a Korean assistant teacher
  • Hours: [WORKING HOURS — e.g. Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM]
  • Start date: as soon as possible

You will not be handed a script and a stack of textbooks. You will be telling stories, making puppets, painting, singing, and building a rhythm your class can live inside. Training and curriculum support are provided — no prior Waldorf experience required.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: starting from 2.5 million KRW / month, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Housing provided, or a housing allowance if you prefer to arrange your own
  • 4대보험 — Korea's four major insurances (national pension, health insurance, employment insurance, and workers' compensation)
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation, two of which you choose yourself
  • Early finish on days when you don't have class — when your teaching is done, you go home
  • Free lunch, eaten separately from the children. A real break, not supervision duty.
  • American owner — foreign-run, with a director who understands what it's like to teach abroad
  • Free tuition for one child aged 3–7 (Korean age)

Who We're Looking For

We care much more about who you are than about how many years you've taught.

Essential

  • Native-level English speaker
  • Eligible to work in Korea — E-2 sponsorship available, F-series visas welcome
  • [Bachelor's degree — required for E-2 sponsorship]
  • Genuinely enjoys being with young children

What makes a candidate stand out

  • Creative and adaptable. Plans change; children change faster.
  • A practicing interest in some art form — music, drawing, painting, theater, dance, woodwork, fiber arts, anything you make with your hands or your voice
  • An avid reader, or someone who enjoys performing. Our whole method rests on telling a story well.
  • Interest in Waldorf education, or curiosity about it
