High School ELA Teacher Wanted at Saint Paul American Scholars(SPAS) Bundang Campus
Saint Paul American Scholars (SPAS) is designed to help teach young people to become responsible citizens and prepare students for college. That means that they must learn the key attributes of ethical behavior including courage, compassion, integrity, justice, truth, reason, fairness, respect, and honesty in addition to the core academic subjects. Saint Paul American Scholars is seeking a qualified professional to fill the role of a Secondary ELA Teacher - G9-G11 - for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year! This position is designed for the education of high school students, including PreAP ELA classes and ELA-related electives. While we will consider all strong candidates with a social studies education background, experience teaching these topics is preferable, and SPAS will consider candidates who have experience in AP course first while reviewing applications and interview results. The role begins on August 16th, 2024 for In-Service and training and ends on August, 2025. We will be starting interviews as we receive candidates either virtually, on GoogleMeet, with the School Principal and General Manager, or, preferably, in person. We will close the position once it is filled. • Candidates who provide recent letters of recommendation from former or current employers will have the strongest consideration • Candidate must be available starting August 16th, but we are also strongly considering candidates who want to start during our summer program as well • All candidates must have an understanding of Social-Emotional Learning and a holistic view of students • This position will work in conjunction with the SPAS disciplinary system - we are looking for educators with a firm understanding of positive behavior systems and their classroom implementation What does it mean to be a teacher at SPAS? • Believing in the connection between school, student, and parent • Aligning with a school community’s effort to raise a child • Making data-driven decisions • Providing Social-Emotional Learning and aiding in child development along with academic lessons • Being a role model to students and leading by example • Communicating regularly with stakeholders on all levels This role is full-time and requires an individual to be organized, a relationship-builder, a team leader, a team player, and knowledgeable about US-style education. Requirements • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution • Hold an E2 or F-4 or other F visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship or Korean citizenship • Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check • Minimum of 2 years of experience • Major: ELA Education, Secondary Education, etc. Working Conditions • Student Age: Secondary School (G9-G11) • Starting Date: August 16th, 2024 • Ending Date: August, 2025 • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:40 A.M. - 4:40 P.M. • Workplace Language: English
