About the Role

We are seeking a warm, organized, and dedicated Upper Elementary Teacher to join our growing learning community for the Spring 2027 term. The selected candidate will begin new-teacher training in January 2027, ahead of the start of classes.

This role involves more than teaching. It’s about building strong relationships with students, supporting their academic and social-emotional growth, and creating a class culture where every child feels safe, supported, and challenged to do their best work.

You’ll work with a collaborative team and use Common Core-aligned resources to plan and deliver engaging English-medium instruction. The ideal candidate is flexible, encouraging, and passionate about helping upper elementary learners build independence, strong study habits, and confidence as readers, writers, and thinkers.

Primary Responsibilities

Instruction & Planning

  • Deliver English-medium instruction across ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies
  • Plan and deliver lessons using Common Core State Standards-aligned materials
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students
  • Develop students’ reading comprehension, academic writing, and research skills
  • Guide students through project-based learning that builds critical thinking and collaboration

Classroom Environment & Student Support

  • Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive class environment
  • Support students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral development
  • Help students build organization, time management, and self-advocacy skills
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress and class activities
  • Implement proactive behavior strategies and effective classroom management
  • Help mediate student conflicts and foster positive peer relationships

Collaboration & Community

  • Work closely with colleagues on level-based planning and student support
  • Contribute to a culture that values curiosity, kindness, and personal growth
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and occasional community events
  • Use our learning management platform to track progress, document learning, and communicate with families

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior classroom teaching experience, preferably with upper elementary students
  • Teaching certification or an education-related university degree
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A positive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for working with upper elementary learners
  • Availability to begin training in January 2027
