We are seeking a passionate and skilled educator to join our dedicated Middle School team.

 

The Position

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Middle School Mathematics Teacher to inspire our students in courses ranging from on-level Grade 6 math to Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry. The ideal candidate will be adept at making math accessible and engaging for all learners. They will be responsible for creating a student-centered classroom that encourages inquiry, problem-solving, and a genuine appreciation for mathematics.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) framework.

  • Differentiation: Utilize varied instructional strategies and assessments to meet the diverse needs of middle school learners.

  • Classroom Environment: Foster a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom culture that motivates students to achieve their full potential.

  • Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.

  • Collaboration: Actively participate in grade-level teams to support curriculum development and student success.

  • Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and curriculum.

  • Community Engagement: Contribute to the life of the school by participating in school events and building positive relationships within the community.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience in a classroom setting.

  • Native or near-native fluency in English.

  • Must be a Korean national or hold a valid F-2, F-4, F-5, or F-6 visa.

  • A clean criminal background check.

Preferred:

  • A valid teaching certification/license (e.g., from a U.S. state).

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience teaching a U.S.-based curriculum (e.g., Common Core).

  • Experience and ability to also teach Middle School Science is a significant plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Seoul Academy offers a competitive compensation package and a supportive professional environment.

  • Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and credentials.

  • Enrollment in the Korean National Health Insurance and National Pension plans.

  • Severance pay provided upon completion of a one-year contract.

  • Six weeks of paid vacation in addition to all national holidays.

  • Daily lunch provided.

  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
