About the Role

 

We are seeking a warm, organized, and dedicated Lower Elementary Homeroom Teacher to join our vibrant school community. This role involves more than just teaching—it’s about building strong relationships with students, supporting their academic and social-emotional growth, and creating a classroom culture where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

 

You’ll be working with a collaborative team and using Common Core-aligned resources to plan and deliver engaging instruction across core subjects. The ideal candidate is flexible, nurturing, and passionate about early childhood education.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Classroom Instruction & Planning

 

  • Provide daily instruction in core subjects (e.g., English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science)

  • Plan and deliver lessons using Common Core State Standards-aligned materials

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students

Homeroom & Student Supervision

 

  • Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive homeroom environment

  • Support students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral development

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom happenings

  • Implement proactive behavior strategies and classroom management techniques

  • Help mediate student conflicts and foster positive relationships

Collaboration & School Community

 

  • Work closely with colleagues on grade-level planning and student support

  • Contribute to a school culture that values curiosity, kindness, and personal growth

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and occasional school events

  • Use the school’s SIS to manage grades, track curriculum, and communicate with families

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Prior experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably at the elementary level

  • Teaching certification or an education-related university degree

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • A positive attitude and a genuine love for working with young children
