Position Opening: Middle and High School Social Studies Teacher

Location: SSI Busan, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea

SSI Busan is seeking a dedicated  Social Studies Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year. We are looking for a passionate educator who can deliver high-quality instruction, foster critical thinking, and help students build strong mathematical foundations in preparation for university and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach a full-time course load in high school mathematics, which may include Geography, (AP)World History, (AP)US History, (AP)US Government, AP Economics, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology 
   

• Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans
   

• Provide meaningful feedback and support to guide student learning
   

• Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and interdisciplinary initiatives
   

• Participate in school life through advisory, extracurricular activities, and events
   

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or a related field (Master’s preferred)
   

• Valid teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics
   

• Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or AP setting
   

• Experience with AP level teaching is strongly preferred
   

• Ability to use data and differentiated strategies to support diverse learners
   

• Strong communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills
   

• Commitment to student well-being and holistic education

Position Details

• Salary: Negotiable

• Vacation: 4 -6 weeks per year (including summer and winter breaks; excludes national holidays)

• Benefits:

  • Free lunch provided

  • Relocation fee provided (if moving from another city)

• Taxes:

  • Coverage includes medical, annual pension, unemployment, and income tax for full-time teachers.

  • Option to choose a 3.3% income tax deduction.

• Contract:

  • Length: 1 year

  • Renewable upon successful evaluation and mutual agreement

• Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
