Founded in 2024, Wisepen Language Institute is a growing English academy dedicated to providing high-quality English education to Korean students. Position Overview Location: 562 Ilsan-ro, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea 4th Floor, Shinilsan Union Shopping Center Start Date Aug. 24, 2026 Selected candidates will participate in 3–5 days of paid training before the start date. Contract Length: One Year Employment Options Option 1: Full-Time Employment (E-2 Sponsorship Available) One-year contract 2,400,000 won monthly salary (negotiable based on experience) National Health Insurance National Health Pension (where applicable by law) Severance pay upon successful completion of the contract Four scheduled vacation periods throughout the year Option 2: Hourly Employment (F Visa Holders) Available for qualified F-series visa holders currently residing in Korea Minimum availability of approximately 15 teaching hours per week Schedule dependent upon academy needs and available classes Compensation will be determined based on teaching hours, experience, qualifications, and scheduling availability Specific details will be discussed during the interview process Teaching Responsibilities Teachers will primarily teach: Reading Comprehension Critical Reading Skills Academic Writing Grammar Students typically range from: Elementary Grade 3 through Grade 6 Middle School Grade 1 through Grade 3 (depending on scheduling needs) Average Class Size Average class sizes of 10-12 students Small class sizes allow teachers to build strong relationships with students and provide individualized instruction and meaningful feedback. Curriculum and Materials Wisepen utilizes an established curriculum and teaching system. Teachers are not expected to create their own curriculum, textbooks, worksheets, tests, or major instructional materials. Lesson plans, curriculum resources, and teaching materials are provided by the academy. Teachers are expected to prepare for classes, become familiar with the assigned materials, and provide meaningful instruction and feedback to students. This allows teachers to focus on teaching, student engagement, and academic growth rather than spending extensive hours creating materials outside of class. Schedule Regular Working Schedule Monday through Friday Classes generally run between 4:00 PM and 9:30 PM Average workload of approximately 25–28 hours per week Please note that 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM represents the academy's operating hours and the potential teaching window, not continuous teaching hours each day. A teaacher's schedule may vary depending on enrollment and class assignments. Some days may include multiple classes, while other days may involve only one class. Teachers are only expected to be present during their scheduled teaching hours and any required preparation or meetings. Class Structure Elementary Classes 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM 3-hour classes Middle School Classes 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM 2.5 hour classes. Class Breaks Studdents receive regular breaks during class, allowing both students and teachers time to recharge. Elementary classes include two 10-minute breaks, typically provided approximately once every hour. Middle school classes include two 10-minute breaks during the class period. These breaks are built into the class schedule and are not considered additional teaching time. Saturday Work Occasional Saturday work may be required or available depending on academy needs and scheduling. Satturday classes are not a regular part of the schedule and are not guaranteed. When scheduled, Saturday work is typically limited to approximately 4 hours and may provide an opportunity to supplement or make up teaching hours. Teachers receive: One week vacation during Seollal One week vacation during Summer Break One week vacation during Chuseok One week vacation during Winter Break These scheduled breaks provide approximately four weeks of vacation throughout the contract year. Please note that the academy may remain open during Korean public holidays. Vacation periods are provided through the academy's scheduled break calendar. Required Qualifications Native English speaker with a F visa or eligible for E-2 sponsorship At least 1 year of teaching experience required Applicants for E-2 sponsorship must currently reside in Korea Must possess (or be able to obtain) an Apostilled Bachelor's Degree Must possess (or be able to obtain) an Apostilled FBI Criminal Background Check Must complete the mandatory Korean health examination Clean criminal background Strong sense of responsibility and professionalis We can assist successful candidates with the apostille process and visa documentation process if necessary.
