Location Description

 

Osan-si is a small city located in the southern part of Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It is situated about 50 kilometers south of Seoul and is known for its proximity to important transportation routes, including expressways, highways, and the Seoul Subway Line 1.

 

One notable aspect of Osan is its association with the cosmetic industry. The city is home to the Korea Cosmetic Industry Institute, which contributes to the development and research of cosmetics in South Korea.


Osan offers several attractions for residents and visitors. Doksanseong is a historic fortress that dates back to the Baekje Kingdom and was later expanded during the Joseon Dynasty. It played a crucial role in defending against Japanese invasions and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The Osan Ecorium is an ecological park that features a viewing tower built on the site of a wastewater treatment plant, providing an educational and immersive experience. The Mulhyanggi Arboretum is a botanical garden with various plant species collected from around the world, including rare and endangered species.
