We are seeking a passionate and skilled educator to join our dedicated Middle School team. Job Description We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students understand world cultures, history, geography, civics, and contemporary global issues. Key responsibilities include: Designing and delivering engaging Social Studies lessons for grades 6–8 Creating a positive, inclusive, and inquiry-driven classroom environment Assessing and monitoring student progress using various evaluation methods Collaborating with colleagues to support curriculum development and school initiatives Communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff members Participating in school events, meetings, and professional development Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field Teaching certification preferred (not required) Prior teaching experience in middle school or international settings is an advantage A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience in a classroom setting. Native or near-native fluency in English. Must be a Korean national or hold a valid F-2, F-4, F-5, or F-6 visa. A clean criminal background check. Preferred: A valid teaching certification/license (e.g., from a U.S. state). A Master’s degree in a relevant field. Experience teaching a U.S.-based curriculum (e.g., Common Core). Compensation and Benefits Seoul Academy offers a competitive compensation package and a supportive professional environment. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and credentials. Enrollment in the Korean National Health Insurance and National Pension plans. Severance pay provided upon completion of a one-year contract. Six weeks of paid vacation in addition to all national holidays. Daily lunch provided.
