Founded in 2024, Wisepen Language Institute is a growing English academy dedicated to providing high-quality English education to Korean students. Our program focuses on reading comprehension, critical thinking, academic writing, and grammar skills in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Small class sizes allow teachers to build strong relationships with students and provide individualized instruction and meaningful feedback.
Curriculum and Materials
Wisepen utilizes an established curriculum and teaching system. Teachers are not expected to create their own curriculum, textbooks, worksheets, tests, or major instructional materials.
Lesson plans, curriculum resources, and teaching materials are provided by the academy. Teachers are expected to prepare for classes, become familiar with the assigned materials, and provide meaningful instruction and feedback to students.
This allows teachers to focus on teaching, student engagement, and academic growth rather than spending extensive hours creating materials outside of class.

Please note that 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM represents the academy's operating hours and the potential teaching window, not continuous teaching hours each day.
A teaacher's schedule may vary depending on enrollment and class assignments. Some days may include multiple classes, while other days may involve only one class. Teachers are only expected to be present during their scheduled teaching hours and any required preparation or meetings.

Elementary Classes

Class Breaks
Studdents receive regular breaks during class, allowing both students and teachers time to recharge.

Elementary classes include two 10-minute breaks, typically provided approximately once every hour.

Middle school classes include two 10-minute breaks during the class period.
These breaks are built into the class schedule and are not considered additional teaching time.
Saturday Work
Occasional Saturday work may be required or available depending on academy needs and scheduling.
Satturday classes are not a regular part of the schedule and are not guaranteed. When scheduled, Saturday work is typically limited to approximately 4 hours and may provide an opportunity to supplement or make up teaching hours.

Vacation
Wisepen provides four separate one-week vacation periods throughout the year during scheduled academy breaks.
Teachers receive:

One week vacation during Seollal

One week vacation during Summer Break

One week vacation during Chuseok
-
One week vacation during Winter Break
These scheduled breaks provide approximately four weeks of vacation throughout the contract year.
Please note that the academy may remain open during Korean public holidays. Vacation periods are provided through the academy's scheduled break calendar.
Required Qualifications

Native English speaker with a F visa or eligible for E-2 sponsorship

At least 1 year of teaching experience required

Applicants for E-2 sponsorship must currently reside in Korea

Must possess (or be able to obtain) an Apostilled Bachelor's Degree
-
Must possess (or be able to obtain) an Apostilled FBI Criminal Background Check
-
Must complete the mandatory Korean health examination
-
Clean criminal background

Strong sense of responsibility and professionalis
