About Us

SLP has been continuing the educational philosophies of Sogang University since it was created in 1994.  Our commitment to English education remains unchanged in the 21st century.

Sogang University students were able to develop English skills quicker than other university students when it was first founded. Today, our programs develop the English language skills of many students in Korea.  SLP students are expected to do well academically, as well as be able to think, act, and dream in English.

Programs

We offer two different tracks for our students to follow.

Intensive Track:

Kindergarten
Apple Juice (AJ): The curriculum develops the foundations for listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Elementary
Junior Intensive Program (JIP): SLP has created a customized program using the latest curriculum.  Teachers will teach topics, such as humanities, economics, life sciences, culture, etc.

Elementary Intensive Program (EIP): This program expands students’ ability to recall and use information learned in class.  Critical thinking foundations and self-directed learning abilities are formed in EIP classes.  Teachers will focus on teaching listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Immersion Tract:

Kindergarten
Rainbow Bridge (RB): Students are taught English language development, art, physical education, and nature exploration.

Elementary
Specialized Academic Program (SAP): SAP follows an American curriculum custom-made for SLP. Teachers will teach speaking, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking through famous literary pieces.

Location Description

Seoul is a megacity, with just under 10 million inhabitants in the main city and 25 million in Gyeonggi province. A 24-hour city, Seoul has an intense work-hard, play-hard culture. The booming metropolis fuses tradition and modernity. At the same time, retail therapy and cutting-edge technology—Wi-Fi even in parks!—reign in Seoul. The city integrates an urban landscape with large green spaces, making it a great destination for nature buffs and city fans. Seoul is experiencing a growing multicultural influence.

The climate of Seoul is considered both humid subtropical and humid continental. Summers are hot and humid and the East Asian monsoon has a strong impact on Seoul's weather from June to July. Winters are usually cold and dry, although the city gets an average of 28 days of snow per year. The average January low temperature for Seoul is 21 degrees F (-6 degrees C) and the average August high temperature is 85 degrees F (29.5 degrees C).

Gangseo-gu is located on the south side of the Han River in western Seoul. Gimpo Airport is in Gonghang-dong, where many flights fly to cities like Busan, Jeju, and Gwangju. The area is known for a large airline industry presence. Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, along with other airlines' headquarters, are located in Gangseo-gu. Accessibility to and from Gangseo-gu are plentiful since Seoul Subway lines 2, 5, and 9 and the AREX (Airport Railroad line), as well as many busses, make transportation a breeze.
