Location Description

 

Gwangmyeong-si is a city located in the western part of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It is in close proximity to Seoul's Yeongdeungpo-gu and shares borders with several other cities. Initially developed with the intention of being integrated into Seoul, Gwangmyeong-si has a strong urban identity and is considered a satellite city. Its cityscape reflects this design, but it has a separate administrative status.

 

Gwangmyeong-si offers a range of attractions and amenities for residents and visitors. One notable attraction is the Gwangmyeong Cave, a former mine transformed into a cultural and entertainment space. Visitors can explore the underground cave and enjoy exhibitions and performances.

 

The city is also home to the Lotte Premium Outlets, a large shopping mall featuring high-end and luxury brands, as well as dining options and entertainment facilities.

 

Gureumsan, the highest mountain in Gwangmyeong at about 237 meters, is a popular destination for locals. Its accessibility from downtown makes it a favorite spot for hiking and enjoying nature.
