Location Description

 

Seoul is a megacity, with just under 10 million inhabitants in the main city and 25 million in Gyeonggi province. A 24-hour city, Seoul has an intense work-hard, play-hard culture. The booming metropolis fuses tradition and modernity. At the same time, retail therapy and cutting-edge technology—Wi-Fi even in parks!—reign in Seoul. The city integrates an urban landscape with large green spaces, making it a great destination for nature buffs and city fans. Seoul is experiencing a growing multicultural influence.

 

The climate of Seoul is considered both humid subtropical and humid continental. Summers are hot and humid and the East Asian monsoon has a strong impact on Seoul's weather from June to July. Winters are usually cold and dry, although the city gets an average of 28 days of snow per year. The average January low temperature for Seoul is 21 degrees F (-6 degrees C) and the average August high temperature is 85 degrees F (29.5 degrees C).

 

Songpa-gu is also the largest district in Seoul by population. It neighbors Gangnam-gu to the west, Gangdong-gu to the east, Gwangjin-gu to the north, and Gyeonggi-do to the South. 

 

Songpa-gu was at the center of 1988 Seoul Olympics, and most of the sports facilities associated with that event are located within the district. Songpa-gu is constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of life of the residents. These things include free bicycle rentals for residents, festival and artistic events, a high-tech businesses zone, education reforms, environmental sustainability policies, and more. 

 

The district is most famous for the Lotte World Towers, Olympic Park, two professional baseball teams, and a number of parks and lakes. There are many different unique streets containing delicious restaurants and trendy cafes.

 

There are 5 subway lines operating in the area and makes the rest of Seoul very accessible. Bus lines throughout the area connect you even further.

1. Role and Responsibilities You will be an ESL teacher for our Kindergarten students. Follow the premade teaching materials, but also use your creativity and imagination to make the classes more fun and enjoyable for the students. You will be responsible for the following: • Teach phonics, pronunciation, and basic reading and writing skills • Sing, dance, roleplay, and create art with students • Follow a textbook and syllabus for easy lesson prep • Add your own activities to help students learn better • Meet learning goals and track student improvement • Attend meetings, workshops, and special events required by the institute • Actively engage students in the learning process. • Recognize the needs of individual students and the entire group. 2. Candidate Qualifications All candidates must; • Native English Speaker • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution • Holds or is eligible for the E-2 visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship • F-visa holders • Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check • Must be physically and mentally healthy. 3. Working Conditions • Student Type: Kindergarten(Ages 4 - 7) • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. • Teaching Hours: 10:10 A.M. - 3:40 P.M. • Class Time: 30 minutes per class, 5 classes a day • Lunch Hour: 12:10 P.M. - 1:10 P.M., Native ESL teachers do not have to eat with students. But Korean homeroom teachers(Korean) are required to. • Prep Time: 3:40 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. • Class Size: 8 ~ 12 students per class • Teaching Staff: 1 Native English Subject Teacher & Many Korean Homeroom Teachers
