Summit English Academy is hiring two full-time elementary English instructors for the 2027 academic year:

  • 1 Experienced Instructor: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • 1 Elementary Instructor: 1–2 years of relevant experience

Start date: January 4, 2027
Paid training: 1–2 weeks in December 2026
Location: Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul

Available Positions

1. Experienced Elementary English Instructor

We are seeking an experienced teacher who can confidently lead elementary classes and contribute as a strong member of our academic team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant teaching experience
  • Experience teaching an American-style English curriculum
  • Strong ability to teach literature, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing
  • Confident classroom-management skills
  • Ability to provide clear academic feedback to students and parents
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with other teachers

2. Elementary English Instructor

This position is suited to a teacher who has developed a solid teaching foundation and wants to continue growing in a structured academic environment.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of relevant teaching experience
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students
  • Strong English and communication skills
  • Positive and dependable classroom presence
  • Willingness to participate in training and receive professional feedback
  • Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in education

Experience teaching kindergarten through Grade 2 is especially valued for both positions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teach literature, reading, grammar, writing, and novel-based classes
  • Prepare lessons using Summit’s established curriculum
  • Grade homework, quizzes, and writing assignments
  • Monitor students’ academic progress and classroom participation
  • Complete progress reports and related administrative work
  • Communicate with parents about their child’s development
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and occasional academy events
  • Collaborate with English- and Korean-speaking staff

General Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year university
  • Native or near-native English proficiency
  • Legal eligibility to work in South Korea
  • Korean proficiency sufficient to conduct parent consultations
  • Required employment documents, including an apostilled degree and criminal background check when applicable

F-4 and F-5 visa holders are preferred. Native Korean applicants with excellent English fluency are also welcome.

Degrees in English literature, humanities, psychology, education, or early childhood education are preferred.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Approximately 24–30 teaching hours per week
  • Classes generally arranged in 2.5- or 3-hour teaching blocks
  • No regular Saturday classes
  • A small number of mandatory Saturday events during the year

Specific working hours and class assignments will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary up to ₩4.0 million per month
  • Final compensation based on experience, qualifications, teaching hours, assigned grade levels, and responsibilities
  • 1–2 weeks of paid training
  • Two weeks of paid vacation
  • Most Korean public holidays off
  • Additional earning opportunities during the academic year
  • Assistance finding accommodation upon request
