Job Description
1. Roles and Responsibilities
As a Secondary school English teacher at Big Heart Christian School, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of Language Arts topics to students in grades 7-12. The topics you will cover include: reading comprehension, advanced grammar, essay writing, and literature reviews. You will also be required to teach an elective of your choice. You will be teaching following the US Common Core State Standards.
You will be responsible for:

Teach a variety of topics in English to students

Plan, prepare and deliver lessons based on a set curriculum

Prepare teaching materials ahead of time

Grade regular homework assignments

Track and report students’ performance dates and give feedback
2. Candidate Qualifications
• Native English Speaker
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Holds or is eligible for the E-2 visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship
• Hold an F-4 or other F visa with USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA citizenship or Korean citizenship
• Apostilled Diploma and Criminal Background Check
• Must be physically and mentally healthy.
3. Working Conditions
Working hours are described as the time you need to be present at the school. Teaching hours are the active amount of time you will be conducting classes or activities.
• Teaching Age: MIddle, and High school
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:10 A.M. - 4:20 P.M.
• Teaching Hours: 5 classes per day
• Prep Hours: 2 hours per day
Salary
2.5 Million KRW per month and up (Negotiable)
Benefits
• Insured with the 4 National Insurances.
• Severance: upon completion of a one-year contract, severance pay which is equal to one month’s salary is paid to the teacher.
• Vacation: 2 Weeks Winter, Thanksgiving, and All Korean Holidays
• Airfare: Roundtrip (50% paid at the start and 50% at the end of contract)
Housing
Housing Provided, Housing Allowance Provided
Single housing will be provided by the school.
Alternatively, a housing allowance can be provided instead. Please inquire at the job interview.
