In the first hour of that class 20 years ago, the professor gave me a thick book and told me to read it until the next time. I spent several nights translating. 

When we were discussing books in class, I couldn't remember any of the contents of the book. I thought I spoke some English, but let alone the words, I can't even remember the contents of the book. In the meantime, what I've been doing has been interpretation and translation, not reading. read over and over again throughout the year.
