About Us

AMJ Academy was founded in 2018. We teach language with a global standard to Korean students. We are new and different from traditional, score-oriented Korean English academies. We pursue excellent English communication skills both in speaking and writing, and emphasize critical thinking skills above all else.

AMJ has been providing a distinguishable English education from other conventional Korean English academies for our 1st to 8th-grade students. Our students are beyond book smart thanks to the modern curriculum and smart instructors.

AMJ stands for Amazing Media Jungle and we were founded in 2018, with an emphasis on teaching English creatively through multimedia, such as storybook creations and short film productions. Through the process of media creation, elementary students grades 1-7 develop his or her own imagination. We strive to inspire that infinite imagination and guide it using English.

We do not require students to answer correctly. Instead, we teach students original perspectives and insights about the world. In this era, our students have to ask themselves questions and find answers. The ability to ask questions is just as important as the ability to answer them. Our instructors look at the students' point of view, guide them on how to ask questions, and correct their expressions to become more natural. This training allows students to expand their critical thinking skills, creativity, and English communication skills.

Our Vision

At AMJ Academy, we maximize our students' ability to think and communicate in English through creative and collaborative project-based learning using media. Through media, students are able to unlock their language skills and creative potential.

We value education that encompasses vital skills needed to thrive in a changing world. At AMJ, students build skills in creativity, collaboratoin, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking.

We foster an innovative learning culture by teaching our students skills that they will need in the future. Just like our world is constantly changing, we also change our approach to learning English.

We provide a new approach to learning as the 4th industrial revolution brings so much different experiences into daily life. We use educational materials that parallel the progressive digital technology of today's modern world.

We empower students to learn beyong traditional boundaries and help studnets develop fundamental skills needed to solve real world issues and challenges in English.

Our Curriculum

1. Media Learning

Our variety of media programs consist of projects such as making movies, vlogs, news reports, commercial advertisements, Ted Talks, and more! Students can work on projects separately or with a team to produce a finished media project. Through the media course, students develop leadership, communication, and management skills. Also, each project relates back to the text that was learned, which helps students enjoy applying their knowledge and developing their thinking and creative skills in unique ways.

2. Project-based Learning

Students engage deeply with the subject matter - unveiling and applying new knowledge - as they learn how to slove real-world problems. Successfully completing a project includes planning, training, and cohesion that is at the center of project-based learning. Interdisciplinary projects allow students to use what they have learned from the curriculum in multiple disciplines into one project that ties everything together.

3. Textbook Learning

We emphasize the quality of reading experience more than the quantity. Students digest interesting novels and content that are geared for their level and interpret the worldview from each book based on their own point of view. Throughout the course, students participate in activities that coincide with the themes in the books. By reading actively, students are able to think and reason logically as well as think outside the box.
