1. School Description

ASP Gwanggyo has been operating since 2013 in the Gwanggyo/Yongin area. We are looking for energetic and passionate teachers who want to be homeroom teachers. We encourage teachers to incorporate fun projects and activities into their classes rather than focusing on workbooks or textbooks.

We are currently looking for teachers with experience as a homeroom teacher in Korea or people who have taught in the US or Canada. 

We are located at Sanghyeon Station on the Sin-Bundang line and can easily reach Gangnam Station in 26 minutes. We have multiple branches under the American STEM Prep organization and work closely with our fellow departments.

2. Vacancies

Currently, we are in the second round of hiring for our new school year which begins on August 26th, 2024.

However, we would be open to teachers starting with our Summer Camp in June 2024. 

These are the positions available:

• 6-year old Homeroom teacher
• 7-year old Homeroom teacher
• 1st grade elementary teacher
• 2nd grade elementary teacher

3. Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

• Plan and deliver lessons
• Work cooperatively with other team members
• Grade homework assignments
• Complete report cards 4 times a year
• Hold Parent/Teacher conferences 2 times a year
• Attend monthly staff and subject meetings
• Classroom management

4. Working Conditions

• Working hours of 9am - 6pm OR 9:30am-6:30pm
• Break time in addition to prep time
• Teaching hours: approx 20-30 per week

5. Working Benefits

• Free lunch provided by the school
• 50% of health insurance and pension
• Severance upon completion of 1-year contract
• 4 weeks of paid vacation [2 winter, 1 spring, 1 summer] + all Korean holidays
• Housing or housing stipend provided

6. Qualifications

• Must hold Bachelor's degree from 4-year accredited university in the US or Canada
• Must have 2 years of previous teaching experience
• Must be eligible for E-2 or F visa
• Must have apostilled diploma and criminal background check

7. Salary

Starting from 2.6 - 3.2 million KRW [negotiable with experience and certificates]
